I was invited to speak at the annual convention for the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS) in 2023. They asked me to speak about Africa, in 20 minutes. There is no way to do justice to a continent of over a billion people in that short space of time, but I hope I introduced some insights for the audience. My goal was to challenge some prejudices and biases we have about Africa, and then to encourage the speakers to become more aware of where else they rush to judgement without consideration.
